Films for the public
Granpa & Zoe: Mission Light
(45 min, recommended age: 8+)
GranPa and little Zoe are buddies, living peacefully on their ranch until the day a strange event impacts their lives: the light of the sun suddenly starts to fade. Our two heroes have no time to waste. Off they go on an adventure to save the sunlight. In the process, Zoe learns a lot of interesting information about colors and the behavior of light.
Cosmos Odyssey
(45 min, recommended age: 8+)
The film Cosmos Odyssey explores our desire to explore the universe, from the beginnings of human civilisation to the present day. You will delve into ancient perceptions, witness the birth of the first telescope and help reveal revolutionary discoveries that are now fundamental to the exploration of the universe. You will see observatories on Earth, in outer space, and even underground.
Journey Through Time
(65 min, recommended age: 10+)
Imagine the 14 billion year existence of the universe compressed into one single year. We start off with the Big Bang in the first second of January and end up in the present, just before midnight on the last day of the year. Using this scale, the planetarium turns into a time machine, allowing us to see how our Milky Way, Sun and Earth were formed, and to learn how life on our planet may have originated and evolved.
Przez układ słoneczny
(60 min, recommended age: 8+)
This live programme will take you on a journey through the solar system and beyond. We will explore the stars, planets and their moons and learn about their properties. All this will be complemented by hands-on experiments on Earthlings.
Special programmes and events
Evenings under the stars
Admission is voluntary, capacity 50 people. Advance registration is required.
A regular series of meetings prepared by Mgr. Martin Gembec, a well-known popularizer of astronomy. Traditionally, at the beginning of the month, we meet in the iQPLANETARIUM to look at the current sky, learn about the latest news in the field of astronomy and cosmology, and, weather permitting, look through telescopes.
Astronomical events
A regular round-up of news from space and the skies. We broadcast events on our YouTube channel every Monday from 18:00.
Observing the sky for the public
Every year we hold a joint meeting at the telescopes. For example, during the Day and Night event in Jizerka in August, observing the Perseid meteor shower or observing in Liberec - Ostašov. You can find more information about these events in the news.
