Science at home
Brázděte Údolí Marineru na našem hydraulickém simulátoru, vžijte se do kůže prvního československého kosmonauta Vladimíra Remka, objasněte si měsíční fáze a střídání ročních období.
Opravdoví nadšenci mohou na konci expozice přistoupit branám našeho iQPLANETÁRIA, které jsou ale bedlivě střežené Darthem Vaderem – ten skrz ně pustí pouze ty, kteří mají platnou místenku.
Pulleys
When they talk about the “moment of inertia” in school, it all sounds terribly dry to some. But this is very practical physics that could easily be explained to you by figure skaters. Learn their tricks on our special carousel. Also try lifting yourself using different pulleys and combinations of pulleys, and you will never again forget the difference between a fixed pulley, a free pulley and a block and tackle.
Physics
If you want to see sound, then stop by at the Kundt tube. The exhibit with the mysterious name of Theremin, meanwhile, features one of the most interesting musical instruments in the world. Will you be able to play a tune on it? And what will you see on the TV screen when you bring a magnet up close? Definitely don’t try it at home, but you can with us. Fun optics are here too, so take a spin through an optical labyrinth or discover how optical data transmission works. And don’t forget to shoot down that troublesome asteroid! The high electrical voltage needed to do this is easily produced using the piezoelectric effect.
Try a washing machine
Through various exhibits, we will teach you how to sort waste properly and why it makes sense to do so. Have you ever been inside a washing machine and spun the drum with your own feet? It is a bit surreal, but you can make it happen with us. Can you tile a bathroom? And did you know that there are different ways of laying tiles? Practice with us in a fun way.
Household
But flushing the toilet can also be fun - if you have the chance to see exactly how it works inside. So that you don’t miss even the smallest detail, we have a cross-section of the entire flushing system for you, along with a sink and the instantaneous water heater. It might scare you a little to walk through a stranger’s apartment in the dark, but you don’t really have to worry, our darkened quarters are perfectly safe. And don’t miss the chance to become a TV newsreader or try your hand at dubbing.
Car
Take a closer look not only at the engine of a passenger car, but also at a cross-section of the entire vehicle. Learn how the various sensors which cars are equipped with work: ultrasonic, laser, radar and dashcam sensors. Study the anatomy of the brakes and try racing on the simulator with and without ABS - you will be amazed.
